Two Day Backflow Assembly Tester Re-Certification Exam Review
The goal of the 2day backflow assembly tester refresher course is to enable currently certified testers an opportunity to engage in a comprehensive hands on review of the State approved test procedures and exam protocol, for the purpose of taking the State required professional growth exam.
The instructor's goal is being to assist “rusty” or even the most seasoned backflow testers, in gaining the best understanding of how the assemblies work and why the test procedures are written the way they are. The instructors goal is to help testers understand the test procedures so well that the professional growth exam is no longer a stressful event.
There will be discussion and hands on review of the test procedures and trouble shooting of each assembly. With time allotted for lots of practice at pressurized test stations.
Garrett Yates with Backflow Management will be the instructor.
One Day Backflow Assembly Tester Re-Certification Exam Review
This one-day exam review for BAT Re-Certification will cover the following: Hands-on review of pressure vacuum breaker assembly test procedure and trouble shooting; hands on review of spill resistant pressure vacuum breaker test and troubleshooting; hands on review of double check valve assemble test procedure and trouble shooting; hands on review of reduced pressure backflw assembly test procedures and trouble shooting; hands on practice time for testers with instructor assistance using simulators.
About the instructor: Garrett Yates and Backflow Management Inc. tean of instructors have many years of experience in Backflow Assembly Testing, program implementation and instructing throughout the United States. BMI instructors are certifed as testers, surveyors and instructors. Additionally Garrett Yates holds an American Backflow Prevention Association certification as a tester and proctor.

Chemical Feed Workshop
This class put on by USABluebook will teach the operator how to choose the correct pump for the application, know when the pump is operating correctly, know how to set the pump to ensure proper dosage, and be able to troubleshoot and repair some of the common problems that occur, this will ensure against over/under dosing of chemicals.

There are many confined spaces in a water system, including vaults and storage tanks. IDSE Standard Monitoring Evaluation
As part of the Stage 2 Disinfection ByProducts Rule all Community Water Systems and NTNCWS over 10,000 in population are required to prepare an initial distribution system evaluation (IDSE). One of the IDSE options is Standard Monitoring. If this is the route you have chosen to fulfill this requirement this class will assist you. The standard monitoring plan requires systems to identify monitoring sites where customers may be exposed to high levels of TTHMs and HAA5s and then to collect samples from these sites over a period of one year.

Implementing the Water Use Efficiency Rule - Large Systems
With an increasing demand on our state’s water resources the Washington State Legislature passed the Municipal Water Supply-Efficiency Requirements Act of 2003, better known a the Municipal Water Law. In this law municipal water suppliers must comply with the water use efficiency rule. Our class will give you the tools necessary to understand the guidance document and start the process of implementing the water use efficiency rule.

Importance of Water Sampling
Introduction to Water Rights
Water systems must understand their water rights to properly operate and manage their water system. Water rights dictate how much water the system can withdraw on a daily and annual basis, and provide an important context for conservation, wellhead and source water protection, and emergency planning and response. Stage 2 Disinfection By-Product Rule
The Stage 2 Disinfection By-Product Rule (DBP) applies to all community and non-transient non-community water systems that add and/or deliver water that is treated with a primary or residual disinfectant, other than ultra violet light.
This six hour class will give an overview of the rule and it's affects on the management and maintenance of their system. Operators will gain an understanding of the rule and knowledge of how implementation of the rule will influence water quality and strengthen public health protection for their customers.
