Welcome

Evergreen Rural Water of WA (ERWoW) provides training and technical assistance to water and wastewater systems throughout the state. The staff works directly with systems to solve operational, regulatory, administrative and financial challenges faced by water systems. We are a non-profit organization that is governed by a membership-elected board of directors. Our federal funding allows us to provide free-of-charge, on-site training and technical assistance to water and wastewater systems in Washington State. Our field staff are professionals in the fields of water and wastewater systems operation and maintenance, and source water protection.

Check our training calendar for upcoming continuing education classes in both the water and wastewater field.

Water Taste Test Winner

The City of Sumas has the best tasting water in Washington! ERWoW had our Water Taste Test on August 29 at the Fall Conference at the Great Wolf Lodge. We had 23 entries. Our judges were Nina Helpling with Department of Health. Glen Womack with NRWA and Kari Fenton with ERWoW. The samples were graded on taste, order and clarity. The City of Sumas will be going back to Washington DC in February to compete in the Great American Water Taste Test! Congratulations!

Tracer Wire Specification

When an agency modifies, updates or adopts a new section to a traditional standard
specification for construction, there are a few key components in the process that are
vital to ensure success. These key components — the design engineer, the construction
inspector and the contractor — all need to understand what’s changing, proper
implementation of the change and the benefit of the required outcome.
The successful outcome of a tracer wire specification implementation results in accurate
and efficient positive identification locates performed by utility operators, to limit liability
to the utility, its customers and the environment.
